If you like watching perversion then you’ll like this show. Other than that it’s lousy. The last time I checked, vampires were supposed to be evil and you weren’t supposed to willingly fall in love with them. That seems to be the trend these days, going the romantic route and making a vampire the ideal companion. Stupid plot, stupid characters, and stupid writing, with an overabundance of perverted sex.

This is the most idiotic and ridiculous show that has been on in a long time. The only saving grace is that it has the occasional nudity.

I heard a lot of good things about this HBO series. I have been a big fan of HBO, even back when it used to be called Home Box Office. Anyway, I thought that True Blood would bring a me a few hours of harmless entertainment. I have only watched the first episode. Here is my problem with the series.
The premise is totally not real. Are we supposed to believe that there are vampires that live among us in small southern towns? Really? Well, let me tell you. I grew up (and still live in) a small southern town. I have never seen a vampire and I haven’t even heard of rumors that they are around. Believe you me, if there were vampires in a small town, the townsfolk would be talking about it. The idea for this show is just so unrealistic that I couldn’t continue to watch it. How could any of you folks who give it 5 star reviews be so simple minded to believe that there are vampires in America. Don’t you know that vampires only exist in Transylvania, Romania or Pennsylvania? There are none here in the good ol US of A. Our govenrment wouldn’t allow it (well, maybe Obama might allow it – he is for “anything goes”, but not Bush and Cheney, who knows, maybe vampires are starting to come into our country – maybe the new regime is inviting them), why not???). Well, not in a small southern town. Not in the land of Dixie! NO WAY, NO HOW! Every person in the parish would take them out with the rounds of silver bullets loaded into thier shotguns.
I mean, I don’t mean to insult those of you who are so easily entertained, but really. If you belive the crap that this show is spewing, maybe you should pick up a season of the West Wing… what a bunch of pie in the sky crap was that? If you want something close to reality, look for an early season of the Dukes of Hazard or even Supernatural… now those are honest to God good and realistic shows. You want to experience what the rest of us live, then take a look at those gems. If you believe the premise of this show, then I have a barge in New Jersey that I could sell you….

I love all things vampires but this was a gross show with no connection to any of the characters ! I can’t connect with anybody on there so that’s my opinion ! It looks good and sometimes I think it’s going to be good but it just let’s me down. I will try the second season.
