Cram every holiday into one movie and see if the kids can make sense of it. This is not one of the better of these kind of movies. Certainly not as bad as Rudolph’s Shiny New Year which randomy introduces all kinds of weird characters. Get all of the other holiday movies before this one.

This is more of a little kid show, but still can be enjoyed by all, especially holiday lovers like myself. It is an Easter Special, but has scenes of every holiday. My favorite part is when they crash into Halloween, and my favorite song is “Every Spring, the Easter Bunny Never Sleeps.”

I would not recommend this DVD for toddlers, young children or sensitive viewers of any age. The images in this movie can best be described as “creepy”. This movie does not give a happy, warm feeling when viewing it, as one would expect an Easter-themed movie would. There is an evil, angry rabbit who looks like Dracula, lives in a creepy cave, flies around on a huge bat and has a heavy, clanking metal tail. There is a really weird caterpillar with a human head who speaks with a French accent and other weird-looking caterpillars with human heads also appear. Peter is not portrayed as a rabbit of pure goodness, but rather a less-than-perfect teenager-type who tells “fibs” and does irresponsible actions like “partying with his friends all night” and not waking up on time in the morning to fulfill his obligations. All of the rabbits living and working in April Valley have hollow black orb eyes that lack life and emotion, which again just gives off an overall creepy feeling. The narrator of the movie, Seymore Sassafrass, also is unsettling to watch as he tells the story with the same odd grin on his face throughout the movie even as the emotion in his voice changes. I really like the Rankin/Bass movies “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”. I would not consider this movie a “holiday classic” to be ranked anywhere near those movies.

When I ordered this dvd on April 4th and paid extra postage it was indicated that I would receive it in a couple of days. It was after Easter when it arrived and the occasion where we had children gathered was passed. I wrote and tried to return it and received no response from Mirmar or Amazon. I am not happy about this purchase or seller

Although “Amimagic” studios Rank & Bass produced over a dozen Christmas specials, they only made one Easter show and this is it! Charming re-imagining of the Peter Cottontail fable, with a year’s worth of kid appeal. We follow Peter, who overslept and missed his attempt to become Official Easter Bunny, as he travels through one-year’s time and almost every major holiday on the calendar. Think “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” meets “Holiday Inn.” I only wish the cute music packed an Irving Berlin punch.
