The Veggie Tales series is an entertaining, fun, and uplifting computer-animated series for kids and adults alike, but this particular installment is an embarrassment. It has the complimentary morals tied to its stories, but the overall aspect of the video is incredibly stale. It moves at such a slow pace, even older people will grow restless. The video also slaps some lame dialogue and action in here and tries to make it funny… and it just isn’t. The only thing saving this package is its occasional one-liner and cool songs. Other than this, I cannot forgive the Veggie Tales crew. I commend you if you are a fan of Veggie Tales, and also discourage you from watching this video. Veggie Tales has produced some awesome videos. This just isn’t one of them.

This is one of their earlier efforts, and it’s clear they were still finding their feet, so to speak. The music is excellent as always, but the writing just doesn’t measure up. Both segments are preachy and not very funny, with awkward comedic timing and pat, contrived dialogue and situations. With the “Gilligan’s Island” spoof they overreached themselved, as they just didn’t have the computer power available to them to satisfactorily render some of the effects they were going for. Roman Catholic and Orthodox parents will probably object to the gratuitous shot at the sacrament of Confession that occupies the space between the two segments. It’s almost worth seeing for the introduction of Pa Grape, but since his personality undergoes a complete transformation in later videos you don’t lose much by not seeing him here. This one’s very missable, which is too bad because it’s trying to put across a lesson that’s absolutely central to the Christian message.

veggie-tales is the greatest its for all ages! and its good for childern most because they learn good morals. the person who wrote it stunk must have never seen it!

My children and I are big fans of Veggie Tales but keep this one out of your collection. It just does not have the same fun, freshness and excitement that the other videos have. And there is no silly song! It could not even keep my son’s attention and this is a boy who would watch Veggie Tales all day if we let him. Pass on this one.

I hated this video!!! It smelled of wroten celery, broccoli, + tomatoes! Don’t buy it unless your willing 2 waste $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
