Stuart Little 2 is that rarest of movie breeds, a sequel that surpasses its charming, popular predecessor to achieve near-classic status. Mr. & Mrs. Little (Hugh Laurie, Geena Davis) are portrayed with good-natured, storybook purity, and the rest of the movie follows suit, beginning when their lonely mouse “son” Stuart (perfectly voiced by Michael J. Fox) befriends an orphaned canary (Melanie Gri… More >>

I can put up with the ages old wisdom of scaring the crap out of kids about the big scary world and the nasty people who live in it, and so what if the falcon is the bad guy and the rodent is the good guy so long as there are no BB guns under the tree, but lets have some fun! This is a kids movie. Stuart is sort of likeable and Snowball the cat has some good lines, but I only watch this sort of thing because I am sure I will feel good at the end and I ended up thinking this movie would make kids not want to go outside. Happy I watched it first.

Stuart little is a poor stepchild in a genre filled with excellent heartwarming films.(Aladdin, Lion King, Toy Story, Finding Nemo).

Stuart Little 2 is a nice movie. It gives me some impressions.Although I have not seen part 1,but I think it as well as part 2.In addition, many people said”Stuart Little 2 is one of the best family movies of the summer.”So I thought that this would be called “summer family” movie. It is more different than other movies.Because it is more interesting than othese, and teaches me”Union is strength.”

I found this sequel to be lacking in warmth, imagination, and unable to envolve either myself or my wife as we watched it, unlike the original. Rent it first and be sure you like it enough to buy it. I didn’t.

This movie is the best. I have never seen such a splendid movie before in my life. It brings me laughter throughout the entire movie. Haha…

You already know the plot if you’ve read previous reviews, so I won’t go too much into it.

My 2 1/2 year old has ‘requested’ Stu-et every single day since we have shown it. It has replaced Jimmy Neutron, which we know word for word. :)

This movie follows the first one perfectly in that the mild mannered Littles are trying to raise a small and vulnerable mouse as a son. You see how Stuart longs for a friend, finds one and develops the friendship. Best of all, it is on a level that is understandable to a child, yet entertaining to an adult.

The bad guy ‘Falcon’ isn’t too menacing. He is scary enough for a child to believe that he is the ‘bad guy’.

Margalo (the friend) is an interesting combonation – street smart in that she isn’t gullible like Stuart, yet has the same longing for family and friendship that Stuart did. Good counter balance.

The one problem I had with this movie is when Mom Little praises Stuart at the end. She generally says what he’s done wrong, and then tells him how proud she is of him for saving Margalo. They countered this earlier when George is found out (lying to cover for Stuart). He asks Dad Little if he is in trouble. Dad then relays how much trouble he is in. I guess it depends on your view of lying, but I don’t like to see it condoned.

They also have Celine Dion’s music video that is safe for kids to watch. Both of my kiddo’s LOVE it, and we have to play it and dance at least 2 times before it’s turned off. :)

Overall, I would urge you to buy this movie, as it is safe. It’s too rare these days to find a movie for kids that isn’t too ‘dumb’ that doesn’t have some sort of cussing in it. I was pleased with our purchase. :)
