I am only giving it 3 stars because there is important information missing from the description of this release. Is this new DVD going to have the extended version of the 1st movie, as is shown regularly on tv, OR is it the theatrical version? I would like the extended version. Amazon doesn’t say. They also don’t say whether the 1st movie is in widescreen or not. Up to now, there is only a pan-and-scan version on DVD.

This comment only applys to the first ACE movie. Ace Ventura is a great classic movie…when its watched on VHS or LASER DISC. i was very disappointed when i popped in the movie and the first thing i noticed was that it didnt have wide screen,i easyly got over that but to find that they took the best part out made me wanna chuck the thing accross the room like a frisbee. if you buy this you might want to have a little screen play with your friends. here is the part you will miss.

I ordered Ace Ventura (Pet Detective /When Nature Calls). Instead I received a completely different movie (Four Brothers – R rated). It was supposed to be a gift for Christmas and I was very happy it arrived a few days before as promised. But doesn’t do me any good if it isn’t the right movie.

Always a comic favorite,Jim Carrey plays the jumpy excitive pet detective Ace Ventura. Besides rescuing the occasional dog or cat,Ace lives the good life. However,he is called on an assignment involving a missing dolphin. Tension rises as he discovers the dolphin is the Super Bowl mascot.Ace immediatly gets on the case, with the occasional butt-talking,tutu-wearing humor.Ace then links the kidnapping to a Dolphin kicker named Ray Finkle, who is after Dan Marino, who he blames for missing a big kick in the last Super Bowl. Ace then links Finkle to Lieuntenant Einhorn, who turns out to be Ray Finkle in siguise. It’s non-stop laughs as Ace,with the help of a Dolphins advisor named Melissa, takes back what is his and does what he does best!

This collection includes both films in widescreen form, yes incliding ACE VENTURA PART ONE. Also it includes some of the cartoons from the classic series. Not a bad collection, and hopefully Warner Bros. does not make Son of Ace Ventura.
