Let me say, I’ve got this on pre order and am eagerly anticipating it. To finally have all the PPG episodes fully and properly compiled will be a Godsend. But I wonder, how’s the image quality going to be? There are 78 episodes, but they are claiming all of those are squeezed onto just 6 discs. I worked it out, that’s 13 episodes a disc, (or, each season is fitting onto one disc) keep in mind that the standard compression usually puts 8 half hours on a dual layered DVD at most. Which makes me think that either 1) the discs are all flippers, which I could live with but it won’t be ideal, or 2) the episodes are highly compressed, which means picture/sound quality could suffer.

Also, there’s the issue of special features. Will it have any? I don’t see where there’s room. And that would be a shame. The first season set actually had a nice assortment of supplements, including the pre-series pilots. will they make it to the “complete” collection? (That does almost make me sorry that future season sets were aborted in favor of the series set)

But, even with these issues, I’m still looking forward to having the episodes themselves. But it does seem Time Warner has come not to honor Powerpuff Girls, but to bury it.

I’m 16, I remember when I was a lot younger before my mom decided to buy cable sitting in my room staring at a fuzzy screen which was supposed to be Cartoon Network, regardless of the fuzz I could at least hear some of the shows, this happened to be one of them. When we finally got cable I didn’t stop watching it, every time it was on I made the effort, and then it was taken off… I was devastated.

My two friends and I had even designated ourselves each a character when we played at recess, we made necklaces and everything. So I’m sitting there, watching tv, and I see the commercial, and I TWEAKED OUT. My mom was in the next room and came in to see what was wrong, I asked her if I could get it, and she just smiled at me and said sure. I pre-ordered it two days early and have been anticipating it’s arrival.

And now, my whole elementary school life, is sitting in front of me, in an organized series of disks, waiting to be watched and it’s memories to come flowing out of every crevice of my being. =D I’m SO HAPPY.
