I’d be interested in comparing the 2 sets – what’s sad is, I paid ~$20+ for each volume of the original releases. And companies wonder why sales are down when they do things like this to customers? If people don’t buy things right off, they say “Oh it’s not popular because it didn’t sell, so we won’t bother releasing an more”, but then when people DO support them and buy them, they turn around and “double-dip” – releasing “extended versions” and complete sets. That would be fine, IF they would give you a discount for trading in your original purchases.
Practices like “double-dipping” should be ILLEGAL.
If my 6-disc set (I don’t know offhand if they’re DVD5s or DVD9s) are superior in any way to this set, but for the price I paid, I sure as heck hope they are.
Please note that my 1-star review is only commentary on the release of this set at such a LOW price as compared to what the original 2-Volume set was released at.

I had receive my copy of Ultra-man in the mail today. I was so excited owning a copy of part of my childhood memory, but I was very upset finding out threw out the disc. certain parts of the DVD. English dubbing is turn off or ill get English sub titles, then everything is back to normal with English. BEWARE !
The video quality is excellent on my 42 inch flat screen tv. .

This product was very reasonably priced, but the ediiting was not very good. The video would often switch from English language to Japanese and there is no way of changing it. The video was fairly good for footage of that era.

This has got to be one of the campiest series ever made, even by the Japanese. The monsters look like they were designed by fourth graders, but never to fear – the science patrol is here.
